Unsolved Mysteries Ep 11: The Lady in the Lake

Unsolved Mysteries Ep 11: The Lady in the Lake

FAM!!! THIS ONE WAS DIRECTED BY OUR FRIEND SKYE BORGMAN (Director of "Abducted in Plain Sight" and Patrick's colaberator on the podcat "Obsessed With: Abducted in Plain Sight). On the night of January 12, 2010, JoAnn Matouk Romain vanished from the parking lot of her church after an evening prayer service. The police on the scene were convinced she'd walked across the 4 lane highway behind the church, walked into a lake, and killed herself. But this explanation never made sense to her adult children. Her body was found 70 days later, 35 miles downriver--a development that screamed foul play to the family. Suddenly stories emerge about JoAnn not feeling safe in the days before she disappeared as a team of private investigators, police, and family members try to figure out what happened. THIS IS THE CASE PATRICK’S BEEN WAITING TO COVER ALL YEAR! On the afternoon of November 24, 1971 a man using the name Dan Cooper boarded a passenger flight at Portland international airport, and hijacked the plane. He demanded $200,000 in cash and 4 parachutes. And then, money in hand, he jumped out of the plane at 10,000 feet. No trace of Cooper was ever found—though some of the money eventually was. For nearly 50 years, people have been OBSESSED with this case. Did Cooper survive the fall? And who the hell was he—or she! And that is what this documentary attempts to find out. 160: The Trials of Ted Haggard

160: The Trials of Ted Haggard

It's a weird one, you guys, but I really think it's one of our best episodes yet: Ted Haggard was living the life. As the founder and head, like, Pastor (?) of the New Life Church, Haggard was one of the most rich, famous, influential Evangelicals in America. He, his wife Gayle, and their two kids had it all. And then Ted Haggard got busted buying Crystal Meth from and paying for sex with a gay male sex worker. WHOOPS! Haggard, who quickly "admitted" he'd been "struggling with this sexual problem" all his life was quickly ex-communicated from the church and his family was BANISHED--YES, BANISHED--from the state of Colorado. In this film, documentarian Alexandra Pelosi (name sound familiar, yeah, Nancy is her mom) basically follows Haggard around while he tries to pick up the pieces of his life.  LOOKING FOR MORE TCO? 159: Missing 411

159: Missing 411

On July 10, 2015, two-year-old DeOrr Kunz vanished while on a camping trip with his young parents. The circumstances were...bizarre to say the least. The family was in the middle of the woods, miles from the nearest road. Little DeOrr had been walking with his parents, then turned to walk the 100 or so feet back to his grandfather. It was broad daylight. And in the split second that nobody was looking at the boy, he vanished, No trace of him was ever found. The case sounds odd until you discover that there are hundreds of cases just like this one, with many of the same circumstances. That's right, over the last 50 years, hundreds of people--many of them children--have vanished in broad daylight from campsites and national forests all over the country. Missing 411 tries to figure out what the hell is happening.  LOOKING FOR MORE TCO? On our Patreon feed, you'll find over 140 FULL BONUS episodes to BINGE RIGHT NOW! At 10:44pm on May 31, 1995, a woman named Jennifer Fairgate checked into the Plaza Hotel in Oslo, Norway. It was the most exclusive hotel in Norway at the time.
