VGK knocks Canes out of unbeaten ranks

Ivan Barbeshev's two point night (1G 1A) lifted VGK past Carolina 4-1 and knocked the Canes out of the unbeaten ranks. With VGK leading 2-1 i the third period, a controversial Barbeshev goal gave the Golden Knights an insurance goal. He beat the Canes K'Andre Miller after a crossover move, but a replay shows it could have been a slash on the VGK player to get separation. No penalty was called however. Pavel Dorofeyev, Jack Eichel and William Karlsson also scored a goal. VGK played without Mark Stone who is listed as week-to-week with a wrist injury. Goalie Adin Hill was also injured for a second time in the young season. Akira Schmidt came into the game around the 10-minute mark of the first period.
