EP 26: The Weight of Love: A Walk Through the Crucifixion

This week, we walk slowly and reverently through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ — the most pivotal moment in human history and the ultimate expression of love.

In Mark 15:21–41, we see the depth of what Jesus endured — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He was betrayed by a friend, abandoned by His followers, mocked, beaten, and nailed to a cross. Yet, every lash, every thorn, every drop of blood was driven by love.

In this message, we explore:

The emotional agony of betrayal, abandonment, and denial.

The physical suffering of the cross — from the scourging to the crown of thorns.

The spiritual burden Jesus bore as He carried the sins of the world.

The love that fueled it all — love for the Father, and love for us.

The powerful symbol of Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross behind Jesus — a living picture of discipleship.

We also celebrated our third Saturday gathering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coronado, CA, a space so graciously gifted by Rev. Michael Murphy. Each week, God continues to move through this ministry, and this message is a reminder of the heart behind it all — love that endures every cross.
