On April 2nd, 2015 Tom Turcich left his home in New Jersey to embark on what he originally planned to be a 5-year trek across the seven continents. After 7 years of walking, Tom is nearly complete with just the stretch from Denver to New Jersey left to finish!The dream of walking around the world formed at seventeen after his friend AnneMarie passed. Since her death, Tom decided to make the most of each day and live his life to the absolute fullest. In Texas, he adopted a dog, Savannah, and the two have crossed every border together ever since. Many of us reminisce or daydream of times thru-hiking a spectacular trail. Not as many of us have a kilt on during that daydream. For Nic, the kilt is a beacon of freedom, hope and warmth (you’ll have to listen to learn more about that). After years of living the old 9-5 story, Nic was tired of the way life was going. He decided, on doctors orders, to quit his job and thru-hike the Appalachian Trail to be “reborn” into a life he was more excited about. He has now completed the AT, the Continental Divide Trail and Pacific Crest Trail. Originally aired April 26, 2018In 2017, Todd Medeiros and girlfriend A.J. hiked the 270-mile Kungsleden Trail in Sweden using snowshoes, crampons and sleds. The Kungsleden or "King's Trail" runs from Abisko to Hemavan in northern Sweden. Even though the trail is a hut trail, the pair decided to do it by camping outdoors. Todd also fills us in on an organization called Over the Edge Global who holds urban repelling events for fundraisers. In urban repelling, people repel from the rooftops of tall buildings.
