The second part of our special MacVoices Live session with Macworld All-Star Band members Bryan Chaffin, Dave Hamilton, Bob LeVitus, and Duane Straub, and production team members Wally Cherwinski and Skylar Hamilton, digs a bit deeper info the audio and video production challenges and techniques that yielded such a fantastic result. Bryan Chaffin began using Apple computers in 1983 in a high school BASIC programming class. He started using Macs in 1990 when the Kinko's guy taught him how to use Aldus PageMaker, finally buying a Power Computing Power 100 in 1995. Bryan is the cofounder of The Mac Observer and currently serves as Afternoon Editor. He has contributed to MacAddict and MacFormat magazines, and coauthored Incredible iPad Apps for Dummies with Bob "Dr. Mac" LeVitus. Bob LeVitus, often referred to as "Dr. Mac," has been considered one of the world's leading authorities on the Macintosh and Mac OS for nearly twenty years. A prolific author, Bob has sold millions of books worldwide in a dozen languages. His recent titles include: iPad 2 For Dummies, Incredible iPad Apps For Dummies, iPhone 4S For Dummies, and Mac OS X Lion For Dummies. He's been a tech columnist for the Houston Chronicle since 1996 and writes regularly for The Mac Observer web site. His hobbies include playing guitar with the infamous Macworld All-Star Band, engineering audio recordings (mostly of classic rock songs), and budget video-making. Bob also has a Macintosh computing consultancy that offers expert technical help, training, and pre-purchase advice to Mac users via phone, e-mail, and/or Internet-enabled remote control software. Duane Straub plays bass for the Macworld All-Star Band


Wally Cherwinski is a Videographer based in Ottawa, Canada. Originally trained as a scientist, he spent a portion of his career in research and teaching at the University of Cambridge, England while doubling as a freelance photographer and writer. Later, he joined Canada's National Research Council and spent many years managing communications for the Canadian Space Program.


Starting with 16mm film, he has written and directed numerous documentaries and television features, including projects with Canada's National Film Board. More recently, he has combined his passion for video with his love of travel.


Wally has been a Mac user since the original 128K in 1984 and his Apple "museum" includes 28 Macs (not to mention Newtons, iPods, iPhones & iPads). He has delivered video workshops at Macworld, at Macintosh User Groups in Canada and on three MacMania cruises. He also writes a regular video column in the ScreenCastsOnline monthly magazine.
