Your home should be your refuge. But as true crime podcasters we can tell you that criminals are out there willing to violate your peace and security for whatever insidious motive. It’s a real danger and it’s probably one of the scariest things that can happen to a person or a family.

And one big problem is that traditional home security systems are helpless to deal with this, because they are reactive. Once an intruder is inside or actively breaking in, then the system goes off. So the trauma is already going to be there for the homeowner. That’s why we trust Simplisafe to protect our home. They’re different. Plus, our listeners are going to get 60% off in Simplisafe’s biggest sale of the year.

The reason we love our Simplisafe home security system is we know it’s proactive. If an possible intruder comes up to our door, their live agents will jump on the situation. They’ll confront the person, tell them police are on the way, and start sounding alarms and flashing lights. That Active Guard Outdoor Protection is a pretty good deterrent for a criminal. You don’t have to do anything, you don’t have to monitor alerts themselves. Their AI-powered cameras and live human agents will do it all for you.

We’ve used our Simplisafe home security system for years. It’s a brand that we trust, that’s become a part of our lives and our own peace of mind. As true crime podcasters, we’ve gotten threats, so we take security seriously. We trust Simplisafe to protect our family from burglars, criminals, and anyone who might do us harm.

Don’t miss out on SimpliSafe’s biggest sale of the year—60% off. Right now, our listeners can save 60% off on a SimpliSafe home security system at SimpliSafe dot com slash MSHEET. That’s SimpliSafe dot com slash MSHEET. There’s no safe like SimpliSafe.

1. Burger Chef Murders Trailer: The Murder Sheet Presents "You Never Can Forget"

On November 17, 1978, four young employees began the night shift at the Burger Chef restaurant in Speedway, Indiana. By midnight, they had vanished, never to be seen alive again. Two days later, their bodies were found in a wooded area in Johnson County. To this day, no one has been convicted of the Burger Chef murders, as they came to be known. But the young victims — Jayne, Ruth, Danny, and Mark — and the brutal way they died have not been forgotten. The unsolved case continues to haunt loved ones, investigators, and the communities of Speedway and the greater Indianapolis area. Brand new podcast Murder Sheet will launch with an inaugural six-part miniseries delving into the Burger Chef murders. Titled "You Never Can Forget," the miniseries will debut on November 17. Cohosts Áine Cain and Kevin Greenlee will be taking a close look at the facts of the case, and a number of twisty, fraught theories that have arisen over the years. Kevin is a lawyer from Broad Ripple who began researching the case in 2016 after coming across the online community dedicated to discussing the murders. He now represents the sister of one of the victims. Áine is a journalist from New York who became obsessed with the case while writing a feature story on the murders for Insider.  After the six-part series concludes, Murder Sheet will continue as a weekly podcast focusing on different crimes and topics in the world of criminal justice. The show's first season will cover the phenomenon of restaurant homicides and shine a spotlight on the violent underbelly of the fast food industry. The podcast's title is a reference to the spreadsheet of around 1,000 homicides involving restaurants, bars, and other eateries that Kevin and Áine have compiled, starting with 17th century tavern shootouts and ending with the modern rage slayings that often occur in burger joints.Follow the Murder Sheet on social media for the latest on the Burger Chef murders and future episodes: FacebookTwitterInstagramAnd send tips to murdersheet@gmail.com.
