EP208: Let's Simplify: Children's Chores with Melissa Griffiths

As our children grow older, their responsibilities will naturally grow. There are personal responsibilities and there are household responsibilities but the question is: how do we delegate? Today’s episode is all about how we can implement simple solutions to involve our children in household chores. And joining me for this conversation is creator of the popular blog, Bless This Mess, Melissa Griffiths.----Show Notes for EP208: Let's Simplify: Children's ChoresEnjoy this Podcast?Post a review and share it! If you enjoyed tuning into this podcast, then do not hesitate to write a review. EP207: Swedish Death Cleaning: Morbid or Mandatory? with Emily McDermott

EP207: Swedish Death Cleaning: Morbid or Mandatory? with Emily McDermott

Swedish Death Cleaning, or döstädning, is removing unnecessary items and preparing your home so that your loved ones aren’t burdened by them after you pass away. While the book that made it famous in 2017, The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning by Margareta Magnusson, focuses mostly on people who are in their sixties or “when the time is coming closer for you to leave the planet”, there is no reason why we can’t start today as younger moms who don’t want to burden our spouse/partners and loved ones. One question: If you were to die tomorrow, what would your loved ones have to do? Here to walk us through the practicals of this question is writer and fellow minimalist, Emily McDermott. Emily will answer questions such as: Who is death cleaning for? How long is this process? Should we tell our families? What are the lessons we can learn from this culture? And more…----Show Notes for EP207: Swedish Death Cleaning: Morbid or Mandatory?Enjoy this Podcast?Post a review and share it! If you enjoyed tuning into this podcast, then do not hesitate to write a review. EP206: Defining "All the Things" with Rachel Brenke

Join me today for a conversation with Rachel Brenke. We discuss the idea of 'all the things': what does this even mean and why does it make me cringe sometimes? How do we define 'all the things'? EP204: The Power of Fun with Catherine Price

EP204: The Power of Fun with Catherine Price

We’ll be chatting all about the ‘power of fun’ on today’s episode! In our always-on, productivity-addicted lifestyles, we tend to think of the pursuit of fun as being indulgent or childish. We claim not to have time for it even as we spend hours a day engaging in what journalist and screen/life balance expert Catherine Price calls “Fake Fun”—binging Netflix, scrolling through Twitter, or indulging our FOMO on Instagram, all in hopes of filling some of the emptiness we feel inside. Through years of research, Price has learned the truth: far from being frivolous or a distraction, fun—or, as she calls it, True Fun—is actually the secret to achieving our goals.----Show Notes for EP204: The Power of FunEnjoy this Podcast?Post a review and share it! If you enjoyed tuning into this podcast, then do not hesitate to write a review.
