Squirting, Dawn Culture & The Most Motivating Word

Squirting, Dawn Culture & The Most Motivating Word

Mamamia ran an article about "women who squirt" and the comment section lost its mind. So, why are men so invested? And... do we all have to learn how to do it?

Also, you're getting up earlier and there's a term for it. 'Dawn Culture' is the reason Australian beaches are packed at 6am. So why the rush, everyone?

And, how many weeks have you got left? Why a motivational tip Em stumbled across on her doom-scrolling freaked her out and made Holly almost order some extraordinarily confronting home decor.

Plus, recommendations and Michelle Obama's uncompromising rule about who gets to give parenting advice.

Recommendations

Em recommends this Salmon bites recipe from Recipe Tin Eats.

Jessie is recommending something her family did at her grandfather's wake; a shared mic last word celebration, where everybody can take the time to share stories and celebrate the life that was lived.

Holly recommends Down Cemetery Road on Apple TV +

The episode of MID Holly references with Kemi Nekvapil can be found here.

Are Lip Fillers The New Lower Back Tattoo?

Are Lip Fillers The New Lower Back Tattoo?

James Weir wrote this week about the rise of lip fillers in teen girls, causing us to ask: Is it a good thing, a bad thing, and how much is social media to blame? And this week, two famous women came out publicly and declared they wouldn't be having children. And a lot of people were uncomfortable with it. Plus Jessie found herself at a dinner party where one of her male friends said he felt he would be able to ace tennis legend Serena Williams in a match... Which.. well, we have some serious feelings about. You can buy to see us live at mamamia.com.au/events and it's all thanks to our partners, Toyota Kluger…. Sex, Death And Money

Sex, Death And Money

Are the royal family allowed to demand privacy at public events? Should teen girls be learning more about pleasure and less about fear when it comes to sex education? Is the world still uncomfortable with women being financially independent in relationships? It's a death, sex and money episode of Mamamia Out Loud. Plus, Mia has an interesting recommendation that takes the show to a dark place. Happy Friday Outlouders, and have a great weekend! Australia Is Embarrassing Ash Barty

Australia Is Embarrassing Ash Barty

World number one and all-round Tennis champion Ash Barty was knocked out of the Wimbledon Tennis competition this week after a three-set loss to American Alison Riske. And it made Jessie realise something ...that since Ash’s success at the French Open, Australia has kind of been hovering around Ash like a helicopter parent. So are we embarrassing her? Plus, we always talk about red flags going into relationships and friendships and even workplaces, but what about the green flags that make people good? And have you heard of the attention economy? Well if not, don’t worry because Mia is here to explain and she’s using the American Soccer team as the perfect example. With Holly away, we’ve got the fabulous Rachel Corbett stepping in to drive the bus… You can buy to see us live at mamamia.com.au/events and it's all thanks to our partners, Toyota Kluger…. Ivanka Trump Was Born To Try

Ivanka Trump Was Born To Try

Pity Delta Goodrem - who was Born To Try - in a world where trying isn't cool. At all. Tom Gleeson said that his Gold Logie win was a bit of a joke, and talked down everyone who 'tried' to win it. But, hold on, wasn't he was on every TV show and magazine drumming up support? Sounds like trying to us. Plus, Taylor Swift says her 'biggest bully' now owns the rights to all her music. How the hell did that happen, and why is she now being slammed for complaining about it? And champion-'tryer' Ivanka Trump accompanied her father Donald to the G20 summit last week. And everyone is laughing at her. But is that cruel? Or is laughing at the Trumps the only way to stay sane? The Gold Logie Goes To...The Biggest Bully

From changing engagement rings to Jessie recommending breakfast... this episode of Mamamia Out Loud has it all….. BUY TICKETS TO OUR LIVE SHOWS HERE. Are the Logies a joke? That’s the question on everyone's mind as we lead into the 61st TV Week Logie Awards this Sunday. Gold Logie hopeful Tom Gleeson has pitted every nominee against each other, and not everyone's happy about it. Do we owe the Logies a little bit of respect? Or is it completely redundant? Plus, is it ever okay to change your engagement ring, a year after you’ve received it? That’s what Meghan Markle has done, and Holly has some very strong feelings about it. And Elizabeth Gilbert says everyone has two hours in their day when they're at their best. When is your window? And what do you do with it? Introducing True Crime Conversations With Jessie Stephens

Introducing True Crime Conversations With Jessie Stephens

Jessie has a new show! It's called True Crime Conversations and each episode sees her interviewing experts about crimes that captivated, horrified and perplexed people from rural Australia to the world stage. This is the first episode about the case of Belgian Backpacker Davine Arckens. When 24-year-old Belgian backpacker Davine Arckens reached out to a man on Gumtree about working on his farm she was excited. The 88 days of labour would mean she could stay in Australia on a tourist visa for an extra year. She couldn’t wait to spend more time in a country she thought was safe and full of nice people. When Davine met the man it didn’t take long for her to realise she’d made a terrible mistake. Driven to what felt like the middle of nowhere, Davine was convinced she was hours from the nearest town. What followed was two harrowing days where she was held against her will and an escape that made national headlines. Walkley award winning journalist Richard Guilliatt reported on the story and he joins Jessie Stephens to walk us through it. Join our Facebook group True Crime Conversations here.
