Israel “Izzy” Martinez was one of the top high school wrestlers coming out of Illinois in the early part of the 2000s. Martinez won an NJCAA championship as a freshman at North Idaho College and then enrolled at Iowa, but his Division I career didn’t develop like the expectations that followed his stellar high school career. Martinez re-created a name for himself as a high school coach and a high-level club coach with Izzy Style Wrestling in the Chicago suburbs.
