Lv: Zemes ceļš bija klāts ar dzeltenām un sārtām lapām, lēni veroties vējā.
En: The earthen road was covered with yellow and red leaves, slowly swaying in the wind.

Lv: Melnīgo mākoņu svinīgajā debesīs plīvoja sarkanbaltsarkanā karogs, liecinot, ka tuvojas Latvijas neatkarības diena.
En: Against the solemn sky of dark clouds, the sarkanbaltsarkanā flag waved, heralding the approaching Independence Day of Latvijas.

Lv: Šīs rudens dienas vakarā Rūdis sēdēja virtuvē, krēslam aizņemot drīzāk nostūri, nevis telpas centru.
En: On this autumn evening, Rūdis sat in the kitchen, his chair occupying rather a corner than the center of the room.

Lv: Jau vairākas dienas Rūdī neizturams diskomforts mocīja krūtīs.

Lv: "Tomēr šī nakts mainīja Rūdī.

Lv: Rūdis sāka saprast, ka nevajag baidīties no pārbaudes, bet gan no tā, ko varētu zaudēt - laiku ar Lieni un Jāni.
