People Pleasing, or the "Fawn" response, is prevalent in those of us with ADHD, it's a natural result of spending years being misunderstood by the culture but also ourselves. You may think you're just a kind, empathic, helpful person (and you probably are!) but people pleasing has nothing to do with any of those things and is actually very damaging in the long term. It leads to burnout, inauthentic relationships and a loss of identity - I speak from personal experience! But what I can also tell you from that experience....is that it doesn't have to be that way.
