Maré Hieronimus is a Dance Artist, Teacher, Ceremonialist, Writer, and Mother living in Asheville, North Carolina. She spent 17 years working as a dancer in NYC, touring and teaching, and eventually creating the umbrella for her work, The Sacred Body. The nature of her work through The Sacred Body exists in three parts: The first part is the sharing of practices of embodiment, and the reclamation of the body as sacred in all of its many forms. The second aspect is the support of the re-emergence of the sacred feminine, the honoring of women's wisdom, and the healing of the matrilineal lines. The third aspect is the remembrance of the power of ritual and ceremony to support these deeper experiences of embodiment and awakening. Her work through The Sacred Body has taken many forms, including, dance and performance, teaching, private movement and healing sessions, the holding of sacred space, the writing of poetry and prose, the creation of home and hearth, and the path of motherhood as a sacred movement into women's wisdom. Ultimately, her work is in service to creativity and healing, and the movement towards living an embodied life in harmony with the cycles of nature, and imbued with the power of spirit.
