But Dante was a prolific con man, accused of stealing and attempting to have a rival hypnotist murdered. After prison, Dante expanded his stage act to include seminars, self-help tapes, tattooed makeup, and a collegiate diploma-mill. He made millions of dollars on false claims and was comfortable telling reporters all about them.
