Bill Toomey is the Regional President for Truist Financial Corporation. He oversees the Houston & Central Texas Region.

Prior to his current role, Toomey performed commercial lending functions at their predessor firm, BB&T, in Myrtle Beach, SC and Richmond, VA. He also spent time in BB&T's Capital Markets area in investment banking in Richmond, VA. In 2008, he became the Baltimore Metro Regional President and in January 2013, Toomey was given the opportunity to become the South Texas Regional President to lead the bank's expansion efforts in Houston, San Antonio and Austin.

Passionate about our purpose, mission and values, Toomey serves as a board member of the Greater Houston Partnership, the Children's Museum of Houston (for which he is a past president), the Houston Symphony, and Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston, and past board chair of the Houston Symphony Endowment and board of managers of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital.

Toomey received a BS from Hampden-Sydney College, an MBA from the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business, and is a graduate of the BB&T Leadership Development Program. When he is not working, Toomey enjoys spending time traveling with family.

Eric Merchant is a Senior Vice President, Middle Market Banker for Truist Bank covering Houston and surrounding areas. Eric focuses on managing client relationships for companies with revenues over $100 million. Eric joined Truist in 2020 and was formerly with BBVA Compass for over a decade. Eric graduated from the University of Houston with a Finance degree. Eric actively serves on the Board of Petra Cares and represents Truist for the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston, Indian Doctor’s Association of Houston and serves as the current President of the South Asian American Bankers Association. Eric enjoys exploring Houston with his family and playing basketball
