Stop discounting yourself - The Diva Of Love

§ Know and value your worth. We all often undervalue ourselves and let others have discounts when it comes to our physical, mental and emotional worth.

§ We shy away from praise or do not even feel we are worthy of it or that it is necessary. Many of us, me included, were raised to be “humble” but that made me really uncomfortable with receiving. Something I am personally working on.

§ Many discount their worth because of low self-esteem, which is something they either grew up with or acquired as time went on.

§ It is really important to have an accurate understanding of who you are and what you have to offer the world. This means knowing your value.

§ By being self-aware, we gain the confidence we need to stop discounting ourselves and gain appreciation and knowledge of our worth.

§ It also means being open to others and their worldviews, not being arrogant or narcissistic. Because you know who you are, you do not feel threatened.

§ Accept the fact that you, along with each and every other person, are valuable and worthy of all good things.

§ This means accepting every part of you, perfect or not, forgiving yourself and others in order to move forward confidently.

§ Also, appreciate and celebrate your strengths. Additionally, own your weaknesses as areas to work on and improve. No one is perfect but that does not make him or her less valuable.

§ Ensure that you always communicate your needs and set your boundaries in such a way that others will not discount or devalue you.

§ We are all guilty of discounting ourselves but it is important we value ourselves so that others will value us in the same way. Discount yourself and others will feel that is a green light to discount you as well.

§ Remember, your value does not decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.

§ TRY THIS: write down a list of all the things that you are proud of – accomplishments, actions, etc. Then, know your worth and add tax!
