Jewish, Christian, & Muslim Meditation & Sharing our practice part 2

This is part 2 of our conversation. You can join our interfaith meditation session. To witness the beauty of diversity is a privilege and an honor. Thank you for listening. Don't forget to leave a comment or a question on my website: LightupwithShua.com A special episode on bringing harmony, unity, kindness and respect in a world that needs some caring and love. I believe this was meant to happen today. I am grateful to be in the company of two amazing people with rich tradition, background and generations of amazing inheritance that they bring with them today. Thank you Maxine and Shelton for being here. About: Maxine Lyons attends Temple Beth Zion in Brookline, and is a retired gerontologist who worked as an adult educator for most of her professional life. She is an active participant in weekly meditations from the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and for over 8 years, a member of a Buddhist sangha. She has been engaged as a volunteer with chaplains who serve homeless individuals in Waltham and Cambridge. Lastly, she has also served in interfaith organizations as a co-chair of Interfaith Educational and Spirituality Programs and extends her support to two Jewish inmates in CA and WI. She lives in Newton with her husband Len and claims her recent fame and good fortune as an excited grandmother of two beautiful grandkids, Judah and Amelie! About: Shelton Oakley Hersey, has sought out, participated and facilitated spaces for reconciliation over the past decade. Her Bachelor degrees are from Rhodes College (Memphis, TN) in Religious Studies and Sociology. From Los Angeles and Fuller Theological Seminary (Los Angeles, TN), where she obtained a Masters in Intercultural Studies, to Mexico and South Africa, she has worked cross-culturally in bridge-building, development of communities and leaders, and spiritual formation, confirming her deepest passion: seeing lives and communities whole and living out their God-given potential. As the Dignity Project Program Director (a program of the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership), she brings together emerging youth leaders of Greater Boston across differences, understanding the significant role in unlearning and relearning that which divides and unites us. With her husband Scott and daughter Amma, she enjoys living life in Jamaica Plain and loves being outdoors, sharing a slow meal with community, expressing herself through visual art and reading a really great book.
