230. How Larissa used house sitting to save for her first home

230. How Larissa used house sitting to save for her first home

This week we’re chatting with Larissa, our podcast producer, all about her money story, her career pivot from healthcare to fintech, and her very non-linear journey to buying her first home.

When Larissa took a close look at her budget, she realised rent and housing costs were by far her biggest expenses, but unfortunately, moving back home wasn’t an option that was available to her. So, she took a risk and combined her healthcare experience with her love of travel and animals, and started pet sitting around Australia in exchange for free accommodation.

Fast forward a few years and that decision helped open the door for her to buy her first property, all while still living life on her own terms.

We loved this chat with Larissa about embracing non-linear paths, taking risks, staying resilient, and doing the things that scare you just enough. We hope you love it too!
