You Must Learn to Love

You must learn to Love."

These were the words given to me by my Angels in 1986. At the time, I protested — “But I do love, I love everyone!” And the reply came, clear and undeniable: “You must learn to love Self. And by loving Self, you truly love everyone else. If you do not love Self, you love with neediness, with expectations.”

That moment changed the course of my life. It was the beginning of a journey — not only to understand Love, but to live it, to embody it, to become it, and to share it with others.

In this episode of Voice of Love, I take you into that journey. I share what it meant to grow up in a childhood without expressions of love, where condemnation and judgment of a fearful God were taught to me. Yet even in that atmosphere, something greater whispered in my heart: God loves me. That inner knowing saved me. It kept me from living in fear, and it became the seed of my calling.

I speak about my grandmother — my first teacher, not by blood, but by spirit — who taught me prayer, healing, and stories of the mysterious. She also taught me of a God of pain and punishment, but I learned to listen instead to the Voice of Love that spoke in my heart. That Voice became my guide through every choice in my life.

I share how my journey led me to explore many religions, cultures, and teachings across the world. I discovered that every faith, every path, holds pieces of truth, and that ultimately there is One Source, One Love, calling us home. I found freedom in belonging to none exclusively, and instead belonging to all in the Oneness of Love.

I recall the day, as a young girl of mixed heritage, when I was transferred to a racially diverse high school. Standing in awe, I felt as though I was in paradise — surrounded by the colors of humanity, the “United Nations” in one place. Time stopped, and I knew: this was a vision of Love’s unity.

Through these stories, you will hear how Love has shaped me, and how every situation in life — no matter how painful — is a teacher. Every person we meet is an opportunity to choose Love.

The first person to love is yourself. To accept yourself as worthy, as wonderful, as already beloved by the Divine Presence. From that Love within, you become a living fountain, pouring Love into the world without condition.

This episode is an invitation: to remember who you are, to thank your body, your life, your journey, and to return, again and again, to Love.

May these words remind you that Love is not only possible, it is who you are. May you hear the Voice of Love in your own heart, and may you choose Love, now and always.
