The Submission in Valentine’s Day Nobody Admits | Happy Submissive Podcast

The Submission in Valentine’s Day Nobody Admits | Happy Submissive Podcast

Women are nearly THREE TIMES more likely to be disappointed on Valentine's Day than men. 39% vs 13%. But here's the twist, when he DOES take charge and plan something romantic? Critics call it "benevolent sexism."

So which is it? Is it sexist to want him to lead... or just honest?

In this episode, I break down the Valentine's Day paradox — why the holiday already has built-in submission, why pretending it doesn't exist makes everyone miserable, and what the data actually says about who's happier.

What I Cover:

- AI as the "other woman" — people are asking ChatGPT to pick Valentine's gifts

- The YouGov 2026 data on relationship satisfaction and disappointment

- Why 24% of women want HIM to plan (and why that's called sexist)

- The frustration gap: 63% of women feel frustrated vs 46% of men

- Our experience at Taboo Vancouver — where our book was the most controversial thing there

- Why this book is the perfect Valentine's gift (for the right person)

The Controversial Truth:

Valentine's Day has always had built-in roles. He plans, he surprises, he leads. She receives, she appreciates, she's delighted. This isn't oppression — it's the structure of the holiday. And the data shows it WORKS.

But we've been told this is "benevolent sexism." That treating her like she's special is somehow demeaning. That she should plan her own romantic evening in the name of equality.

The result? Women are MORE frustrated. MORE resentful. MORE disappointed. The data doesn't lie: 63% of women feel frustrated in their relationships vs 46% of men. Maybe the problem isn't traditional roles. Maybe the problem is pretending we don't want them.
