Annette has lived in Broome since age 21 after being encouraged to leave Perth due to personal issues.She initially worked as a prison activities officer, offering yoga, life skills, and fitness training for inmates, many of whom were incarcerated due to domestic violence-related offenses.Annette endured traumatic experiences, including the suicide of her daughter's father and domestic violence against her daughter.A significant turning point was a severe surfing injury to her leg, which led to depression and the inability to continue in her former job or run her boot camp.Annette transitioned to business ownership by buying a surf shop called Barrels, despite no prior affinity for selling clothes or retail work.She credits her recovery and ongoing resilience to tools like breathwork, yoga, mindset work, and emotional regulation learned through programs such as We Breathe Success.
