Compiler Error 1 - FireWire comes in 3 protocol flavors: FireWire 400 over a 4-pin connector, FireWire 600 over a 6-pin connector, and FireWire 800 over a 9-pin connector. 2 - The technology behind FireWire, known as IEEE 1394, was not only used in consumer electronics, but also automobiles, military vehicles, and even satellites. 3 - FireWire was expected to reach speeds up to 6.4 Gbps over single mode fiber, but development was largely halted after 2010, and fully withdrawn in 2013. 4 - Unlike USB where these is a single host to the topology of connected devices, FireWire implements a pure peer-to-peer network, allowing for multiple hosts and devices to share the same bus for communication.
