Anyone interested in beauty products has come across the name Deborah Lippmann before, but few folks know the backstory. She’s made such a name for herself as a celebrity manicurist, and launched her own line of nail polish at the encouragement of such wonders as Mariah Carey, that it’s nearly impossible to think that her start in the beauty world was simply a way to make ends meet while she worked on her passion for music. A move to New York brought everything together, however, as Deborah found herself working among the likes of Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier, and working with celebrity clientele soon after. It was her knack for color customization, however, that made her a standout among clients and beauty editors. Deborah’s eye for color enabled her to create shades that couldn’t be found anywhere else. Although it hadn’t been her original goal, Deborah let her clients lead the way, and their insistence that she create her own line officially took her from manicurist to entrepreneur.
