Episode 14: IN FOCUS: "Financial Planning For Orthodox Jewish Families: There Is Nothing Average About a Frum Lifestyle”

This week we’re going “IN FOCUS” where we explore more advanced wealth planning topics. Today we will discuss “Financial Planning for Orthodox Jewish Families: There is Nothing Average About A Frum Lifestyle.” Featuring:

Jonathan I. Shenkman, AIF®, President at Shenkman Wealth Management

Today’s episode will discuss financial planning for Orthodox Jewish families.

By way of background, the financial planning process is unique for every individual, This is particularly true when it comes to estate and charitable planning for Orthodox Jewish families who have a unique set of familial, religious, and social circumstances.

Orthodox Judaism advocates a strict observance of “halacha” or Jewish law. Key practices include observing the Sabbath from Friday night to Saturday night and eating kosher food. In the Orthodox community, money plays an important part in ensuring that families can maintain their religious and cultural lifestyle as well as pass on traditions to the next generation.

It’s important to plan with these nuances in mind. This program will dive into many of these topics, themes and offer practical solutions.
