Celtic Rock and Midwestern Roots | A Conversation with Michael Tierney from Reilly

Celtic Rock and Midwestern Roots | A Conversation with Michael Tierney from Reilly

On this episode of Along the Rock, host Emma Watts sits down with Michael Tierney of the Reilly Celtic Rock Band to talk about the band’s unique sound, their creative songwriting process, and their upcoming return to Dixon for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Reilly blends traditional Celtic influences with the energy of American rock and roll, creating a style they describe as Irish-American folk rock. During the conversation, Tierney shares how the band collaborates on songwriting, how their newest album, Milwonkee, came together, and what it means to capture a moment in time through music.

With more than two decades of performing across the United States and internationally, Reilly has built a reputation for energetic live performances and creative interpretations of traditional music. Tierney also shares a few memorable stories from the road and reflects on the band’s journey since forming in 2001.

The band is returning to Dixon for two performances on Saturday, March 14, during the St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Fans will have the chance to see them at the Rock River Valley Shamrock Club celebration, as well as a full concert at the Historic Dixon Theatre.

If you love Celtic music, rock, or live performances packed with energy, this episode is one you won’t want to miss.
