IN CONVERSATION: Julia Gillard

HI HOW ARE YOU OK ENOUGH CHIT CHAT BECAUSE... Today on the show, we bring you the woman who needs no introduction - but we will attempt to give her one that does her justice - Julia Gillard. Julia was, of course, the first female Prime Minister of Australia, who is now the Chair of Beyond Blue, one of Australia’s leading mental health awareness bodies. Julia is also an avid advocate for addressing women’s under-representation in leadership, which was the motivation behind the book she just co-authored with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ‘Women and Leadership’. In this chat, Julia touches on the frustration that accompanies being a woman in politics, the moment she found out Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump, as well as her absolutely iconic misogyny speech. If you’d like to hear more from Julia, please do check out her newest book that she co-wrote with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ‘Women and Leadership’. Order it here! You can also order Julia’s memoir, ‘My Story’, here. For those In Conversation episodes we mentioned at the end of today’s episode, click here for Dylan Alcott and here for Marlee Silva. We’ve already dropped episode one with a very familiar face in The Shameless Book Club podcast feed, but we thought, why not give you a little taste, too? So! Here’s episode one of The Tastemakers with Gemma Dimond and Michelle Andrews… Big thanks to Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur for making this episode possible. If you are over 18 and looking for a treat, head online or instore to your liquor retailer and shop Baileys. To explore a selection of delicious Baileys recipes, head here. Not our strongest finish, sorry

Not our strongest finish, sorry

Hello hello! On today’s show: it was the week that millions of people around the world fell in love with TikTokker @reesateesa, and for very good reason. Plus! Tom Sandoval’s New York Times profile is… a complete disaster, Dakota Johnson’s new movie has officially reached “so bad it’s good” status, while J Lo’s new film is, well, something we need to unpack together. And! Apparently, Khloe Kardashian has been spending her days Facetuning her cat and we have reason to believe Harry and Meghan’s wedding was… a bit smelly. This week, Zara recommended reading ‘100 Small Acts of Love’ from The New York Times. Mich recommended Crime Scene on This American Life, as well as The Weekly Fifty. This episode was audio produced by Annabelle Lee. Big thanks to Betty’s Burgers for making this episode possible. Grab your bestie and head to Betty’s Burgers on Thursday, the 29th of February to celebrate the extra day of Summer this year with free extras. Head to their socials to stay updated! The Taylor Swift series: Parts 1-3

The Taylor Swift series: Parts 1-3

Omg it’s us! In your podcast feeds! On a Saturday! Why? Well! You might remember that, at the beginning of 2022, we did a three-part Scandal series exploring how Taylor Swift rose, fell, then rose again. Those three episodes are Shameless Media’s most downloaded episodes of all time.  As you’re already very much aware: a LOT has happened in the Taylor Swift omniverse since we released that three-part series. So much that it… completely justifies… a couple more episodes. So! To celebrate Taylor coming to Australia for the Eras Tour this week, we’re taking our most-popular series ever two steps further: to kick everything off we’ve repackaged our three existing episodes into one bumper podcast for you. Have a trip down memory lane with us here, then enjoy Part Four on Monday and Part Five the week after. This episode was audio produced by Annabelle Lee. Want to support our show?
