The Stone Basin at Marrow's End

While surveying a remote valley for development, a man stumbles upon a forgotten town called Marrow’s End—an isolated settlement where the residents move in a trance, endlessly repeating strange, mechanical routines. As he investigates further, he discovers their actions are part of a long-running supernatural ritual.
Beneath the village lies a living, organic chamber where he realizes the horrifying truth: the townspeople are being distilled into a collective offering meant to bring an ancient entity into existence—and he has been marked as the final piece. When a sigil begins forming on his skin, he understands he is meant to complete the ritual.
Refusing to become part of the cycle, he destroys the structure binding him to it, triggering the town’s violent collapse. He escapes, but the memory of the grotesque transformation and the ancient force he nearly unleashed continues to haunt him.
