Abdullah Saeed TV Producer, Comedian, Great Moments in Weed History, Juggalos, Covid-19 Episode 30

Abdullah Saeed has a presence, immediately his voice and quick wit makes you laugh. I got to link up with him at The Emerald Cup where we were both working the event (watch the interview with Tommy Chong) and smoked a J together…. the rest is history.

The stand up comic, TV Producer, Journalist, Writer, wrote the weekly column for Weediquette, was the host for Bong Appétit on VICE, the co-creator of Great Moments in Weed History, is currently in the process of writing a film with Ben Sinclair for FOX Searchlight and New Regency, Saeed is on fire very much in the mix of cannabis content creation.

Great Moments in Weed History delves deep into humanity’s 10,000+ year relationship with cannabis (a.k.a. “marijuana”) to find the humor, heart, and historical importance of this very special plant. In each episode, co-hosts Abdullah Saeed and David Bienenstock blaze joints, crack jokes, and explore the people, places, and events that make up the complex and fascinating past of weed and weed culture, from Barack Obama’s time in the “Choom Gang,” to an exclusive first-hand account of how the Hollywood sign briefly became the Hollyweed sign. We talk about the power of cannabis, the way it brings people together no matter where you are. His recent appearance at a Juggalos event (where he joined in painting his face) just verified to him that he can go to a cannabis event anywhere in the world that he will run into someone he knows. Abdullah also brings weed to the “normal” masses via KCRW/Cannabis NPR in his weekly show educating those that may not have any other access to cannabis news including his ventures into an underground “Weed Speakeasy”.
