In this week's episode we are talking about expectations. Proper expectations are the building blocks of successful relationships. And that is ALL relationships: patients, staff, family, etc. What kind of expectations are you setting for people coming into your practice? What kind of expectations do you WANT to have? Then, are you delivering on them? The "delivering on expectations" is the glue that holds the whole thing together and is probably the most important part of the entire relationship. If you are setting patients up with great expectations, but you fail to deliver, you are leaving yourself in a much worse position than if you had not promised anything whatsoever.

In Office talk we are talking about the joys of private practice life. Staff schedules crapped the bed this past week. Even with being slightly overstaffed, we had the perfect storm of things that popped up last minute and had 75% of our staff out at once. The good news? We made it through thanks to the few left behind as well as all the systems and processes we have put into place for such a time as this!
