During his time, he constructed a series of autobiographical writings known as the Meditations, which he wrote for his own guidance and self-improvement. “Meditations” is considered also one of the greatest works of philosophy ever written and it is one of the fundamental books of the philosophy of Stoicism. The main core of stoic philosophy is the necessity of making deliberate choices and being in control of our emotions in order to live well and lead a virtuous life.
