The Amazon Adventures

In the 1980's, a simple magazine article would change everything for a Wisconsin angler named Joe Wing. After reading about Peacock bass fishing in the Amazon he picked up the phone and called the man behind the story- and a few months later, he was headed deep into South America. What followed were years of raw, unfiltered adventure across remote rivers in places like Venezuela, Brazil and Peru- long before GPS, Cell Phones, or modern travel infrastructure existed.

This episode dives into a time when exploring the Amazon meant real risk. From close calls in the jungle to navigating unfamiliar cultures and unseen dangers, Joe's story is a reminder that the greatest adventures often come with the highest stakes.
