Kendra faces eight misdemeanor charges in Arkansas after investigators searched the home and reportedly found locks on the exterior of bedroom doors. She was released on bond and placed under a no-contact order with her four children — Garrett, Addison, Brooklyn, and Justus. On a monitored jail call, she told Joseph he wasn't her priority. "I'm fighting for the kids," she said. She retained attorney Travis Story separately from Joseph's counsel. On another call, she told Joseph that Friday — the day her own children were taken from her — was harder than the day he was arrested.

Joseph faces Florida felony charges tied to the alleged molestation of a nine-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach. According to the arrest affidavit, he reportedly admitted to the conduct. He has entered a not guilty plea and is presumed innocent.

This is not a typical episode. It includes a direct appeal to Kendra — walking through who she was before the Duggar system absorbed her, what has reportedly been done to the Caldwell family, what the affidavit says, and the two paths in front of her right now.
