Episode 13 - Part 2: Famous Ray, Hotline Chaos & Erik’s Yacht Rock Moment

The Shaffer RULES Podcast is back for Episode 13 – Part 2, picking up after the break with more nonsense, local stories, sports talk, and a little bit of sponsor love.

In this episode, Brian and Corey recap their first-ever podcast guest appearance with Erik Winger, then dive into their Dubby energy drink pitch before heading back to the creek for the legend of “Famous Ray” — an 80-something trout fisherman who had the first day of trout season of a lifetime. After catching two 20-plus-inch trout, taking a dive in the creek, and later being spotted at Walmart, Ray officially becomes part of Shaffer RULES history.

The guys also check the Shaffer RULES hotline, featuring confusing inside jokes, obnoxious “hello” messages, and Willie from Fritzy’s calling in with a very important public service announcement. From there, the conversation veers into local bar stories, Vince’s Tavern, strange memories, and the ongoing mystery of where you may or may not see a boob.

Later, Brian and Corey react to wild team fighting videos, talk UFC, boxing, Penguins playoff hopes, Pirates baseball, Toronto Blue Jays heartbreak, the possible return of the Seattle SuperSonics, and why golf is really just Sunday nap fuel.

The episode wraps with a spotlight on Maono microphones and a full-on appreciation of Erik Winger’s song “Reina” from his album “You Can Have All You Want” — complete with yacht rock commentary, fake video direction, dirty martinis, boats, rain, guitar solos, and plenty of Shaffer RULES absurdity.
