His battle with substance use began in his early teens, leading to two felonies by the age of 16 and a suicide attempt that nearly cost him his life. At 19, he got sober and has stayed committed to his recovery ever since. But just as he hit two years sober, he was faced with another challenge—a cancer diagnosis.
