#131 - Wayne Mattei - The Celebrity Bodyguard

Wayne Mattei is Australia's Number 1 Celebrity Bodyguard, Australian Pro Wrestling Legend, Actor and Producer.

This week we flew to Adelaide for one of the best interviews we've ever had on our show and was welcomed inside Wayne's incredible home to sit, chat and hear some of the greatest stories you could imagine.

Wayne lifted the lid on what it’s like being a bodyguard for some of the biggest celebrities in the world including John Travolta, Steven Seagal, David Beckham, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Elle Macpherson, John Cena and so many more.

You won’t believe some of the stories he shares including saving one of these names' lives, personal connections with them and who is the nicest actor he’s worked for!

Wayne opened up about his boyhood dream turned reality which was professional wrestling. Wayne’s won every title you can imagine in Australia and took on the biggest names that came out to our shores. Plus, he shares how close he got to signing a contract with the WWE.

Wayne has spent over 15 years body-guarding for the WWE, and for those wrestling lovers, you won’t believe some of the untold backstage stories he shares about some of the biggest names in the industry. Including the superstar who hilariously stunk out a lift in Malaysia and an x-rated story in a secret Disneyland Location!

These days you’ll find Wayne either on a film set in front of the camera or producing his very own production work!

His acting career boasts an impressive CV too including playing Sgt Slaughter on the first two seasons of The Rock's TV series, “Young Rock”. Wayne shares some amazing insight into what a top bloke The Rock really is, and the special gift Dwayne Johnson set him!
