#248 - Hamish McLachlan - Australia's Smoothest Broadcaster & The Impact of the Story

Hamish McLachlan is one of Australia's most renowned TV broadcasters, sports commentator and widely regarded as the best live interviewer & host in the country.

There are very few that can capture the moment as he does and tell the story behind the athlete and Hamish is about to tell you exactly how he has learnt that and the amount of preparation that goes into every broadcast to give us that feeling watching at home.

Hamish takes us all the way back to where the love of broadcasting began and the crazy sliding doors moments that gave him a start at channel 7. Plus, you won't believe the people that pop up along the way...like a New Years Eve with James Blunt!

We hear about some of the big moments behind the mic and in front of the screen like Brownlow Medals with his brother, Gil, Olympic Games, Grand Finals & we have laugh as re-live the infamous Triple M "Ricegate" which Hamish was involved in as a very green broadcaster! Plus, he shares how he stays calm when things go wrong live.

Being regarded as one of the best live interviewers, Hamish has had the honour of chatting with Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer, Barrack Obama and Oprah Winfrey...just to name a few. And the Kobe story especially you won't believe!

Outside of his career, Hamish's philosophy on life will inspire you.
