Season 3 Episode 19 Gotchigang Hangout Summary, Saturday April 30th 2022

We started the hangout discussing Pixelcraft’s counterattack on the bots in the game during the play drop phase. It turns out there are many tools being deployed in the Gotchiverse to combat botting which is a relief as we open gameplay over the next month.

We celebrated the wild success of the play drop with an excess Alchemica shower during the hangout. Baatches of thousands of Alchemica were dropped every few minutes as we discussed the happenings in the Gotchiverse.

Coder Dan had mentioned over 6000 lending contracts were active at any one time consistently during the month! Over the next month there will be multiple updates made to the Gotchiverse, starting with a social phase during the beginning of March where we will have text chats enabled in the Gotchiverse and in each district. There will be scheduled events during this phase and possibly some fun and frenly competitions! The second phase in May will be the release of many more districts and the crafting of Alters which will allow us to channel Alchemica. The Alchemica will rain down from the sky over a wide radius during initial channelling, so building walls and upgrading our structures will be needed to prevent spillage.

We briefly touched on the tokenomics of the game and specifically the GLTR token. I found it interesting that the GLTR token will represent tokenized time, which will help builders speed up their installation construction time.

The Aavegotchi arcade will be a big part of the Gotchiverse. From the inception of Aavegotchi, community members have been developing their own minigames based on Aavegotchi assets. We discovered that there will be NFT game cartridges which game developers may be able to sell to allow periods of access to the minigames they have developed. This idea is still being developed but is great news for the aarchitects of the Gotchiverse!

During the second hour of the hangout we discussed the traits finalization that was just passed on a recent signal proposal in the DAO. The proposal addresses the function of each Aavegotchi trait. As the game develops, choosing an Aavegotchi with the right traits for what you are doing will become more important. The Aavegotchi wearables will play a big part in modifying their traits and adding special abilities. We discussed some different playing styles and potions were mentioned to help players recover some stats during action or battle.

We wrapped up the hangout by discussing the next GBM land auction and raffle. People shared their opinions on the upcoming land launch and speculated on how the next auction could go. We discussed counter arguments for holding the next land sale and some alpha was dropped mentioning the possibility of some alternative use cases for frens and drop tickets aside from land and Haunts!
