Sound Healing, Frequency, & Chanting: How Vibration Impacts the Body

In this episode of Mystics at the Grocery Store, we explore sound and frequency through chanting, music, binaural beats, and sound healing. We share personal experiences, including early memories of singing and laughter, using ocean sounds during childbirth for calm and breathing, a powerful group screaming release practice in a Scottish castle, and transformative crystal bowl sound baths. And although we highly suggest exploring these techniques we also talk about the cautions about mixing frequencies, the idea of chakra-related frequencies, and using apps for hertz-specific tracks. We also reference some super fascinating studies on mantra/Om chanting affecting alpha/theta waves, cortisol, the vagus nerve, and MIT research on 40 Hz light and sound stimulation in early Alzheimer’s.
