Episode 84: Marriage Series - We Chose to Stay

If you've been around for a while, you know this is a space where we get honest. We don't do surface level here. We talk about what's actually happening in our hearts — and today, that means we're going somewhere that feels a little tender for a lot of us.

We are kicking off a brand-new three-part series on marriage.

And I want to start by telling you something important: this series is not for perfect marriages. It's not for people who have it all figured out. This series is for the real ones — the messy ones, the quiet-and-disconnected ones, the ones where you've wondered if you made the right choice, where you've felt more like roommates than partners, or where you've done real damage and aren't sure if there's a way back.

This series is for you.

Journaling Prompts:

1. What is one word that honestly describes how I feel about my marriage right now? What thought is creating that feeling?
2. Where have I been waiting for my spouse to change, instead of looking at what I can change in myself?
3. What would it mean for me if I truly believed my marriage was worth fighting for? What would I do differently tomorrow?
4. Have I been evading my real feelings — saying the right things, performing okayness — without actually processing what's going on inside me?
5. When I picture the legacy I want to leave for my children or grandchildren, what role does my marriage play in that picture?
6. Is there one moment in my marriage — even a small one — where I felt genuine connection? What was happening in that moment?
7. What is one thing I am grateful for about my spouse today, even if it feels hard to find?
