Conversation Pitfalls

Conversation Pitfalls

There are so many pitfalls that can happen when trying to communicate. In this episode, @MaryLing talks about how some people didn't understand her intent when she said the phrase, "Bless Your Heart". And @DonHarkey explains a situation where a cultural barrier prevented team members from being able to build trusted relationships with one another. The People Centric team talks through these conversational pitfalls:

  • cultural differences
  • regional differences within the USA
  • colloquialisms
  • communication styles
  • narrative paradigms
