Phil has recently spoken very positively about the way King Charles is handling his reign. But there’s a story about his earlier - and much more controversial - life that’s hardly ever been told. In his bachelor days and as a young man recently married to Diana Spencer, Charles was heavily under the influence of some seriously strange - even dangerous - people. So who were the men who shaped the mindset of Britain’s future King, and psychologically prepared him for marriage and public life? You’ll be surprised!

Phil is then joined by young academic Amilia Gillies to discuss the weird and wonderful world of another royal court - that of King James (the 1st of England and 6th of Scotland). It was a colourful and highly scandalous time, full of larger than life characters and some very naughty poetry!
