In March of 2000, a 23-year-old college student named Leah Roberts packed her belongings into her Jeep and left North Carolina behind. She had no set destination. No clear plan. Just a map, a sense of adventure, and a deep fascination with the writings of Jack Kerouac. But two weeks later, Leah’s Jeep was discovered at the bottom of a remote embankment in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. The vehicle had clearly been crashed. The windshield was shattered. Personal belongings were scattered around the scene. And Leah Roberts was nowhere to be found. Investigators would soon discover strange clues surrounding the crash—details that raised more questions than answers. Was it an accident? Did Leah wander off into the wilderness?
