An Evening with Joan Red

An Evening with Joan Red

This week on Guns N' Radio we're bringing you a very special episode - "An Evening with Joan Red".

Joan Red is a legendary Memphis-area rock band. Formed in 2006, they completed their first, full length album in the fall of 2008. They would enjoy tremendous success as well as radio airplay in every state across the southeastern United States.

Often described as Disturbed meets The Killers the band would become one of the most sought-after live acts in the entire area by both concert promoters and fans alike.

The band were one of the first ever to utilize social media to expand their following with over 2.5 million plays on Myspace.

At the peak of their success Joan Red would share stages with renowned artists like Seether, Saving Abel, Egypt Central, Staind and Avenged Sevenfold just to name a few.

However, tragedy fall over the band in late spring 2011 with the sudden passing of singer Anthony Basurto. The band would only play one more show in Anthony's honor before going their separate ways that summer.

...and that was the story of Joan Red. Until, last month when it was announced the band would reunite on 3/22 for the #MemphisFamilyReunion show.

We will be joined this week by members of the band who will be telling their incredible story (maybe for the first time ever) in a podcast platform.

We will also be covering, what they've been up to since since we last saw them together, and what you can expect to see at Lafayette’s Historic Music Room on March 22nd.
