Hydrogen’s Promise

Hydrogen’s Promise

Tisha Schuller welcomes Kristine Wiley to the Energy Thinks Podcast to explain what the emergence of hydrogen means for the energy future, and why this technology is a promising opportunity for the oil and gas industry.

Tisha and Kristine sit down to discuss:

· The role of hydrogen in a low-carbon economy

· How hydrogen fits in the existing natural gas value chain

· What is most important to developing hydrogen’s potential

· Overcoming the obstacles hydrogen presents

· What a city powered by hydrogen would look like

Kristine has spent the entirety of her career at the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) where she began as a scientist in 2002. Kristine was named Executive Director of GTI’s Hydrogen Technology Center in 2020 where she currently leads the Center’s efforts to develop public-private partnerships to leverage existing natural gas infrastructure to transition into a low-carbon future. She has extensive experience across GTI’s operations from methane detection, utility operations, and environmental compliance, to researching the future use of renewable natural gas (RNG) in current gas grids. Kristine holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago.
