When Ohio's Attorney General described the Siders case as "intrafamily," most of the coverage moved past the word. It shouldn't have. That term — used before DNA testing was complete — signals something the child endangerment charges don't capture.

Sixteen children found in a twelve-by-twelve room in Hamden, Ohio. Some nonverbal. One critical. Elizabeth Siders was fifteen when she married Gary Jr. and reportedly thirteen when her first child was born. All sixteen children were delivered at hospitals. Truancy complaints filed in 2021 were never served. No CPS intervention. No school enrollment. No medical records beyond delivery.
