Lindsay Clancy's Jury Lost THIS Before Day One

Lindsay Clancy's Jury Lost THIS Before Day One

Anyone following the Lindsay Clancy trial is watching the jury selection and the witnesses. The real fight happened before any of it started, and most people missed it.

Three moves in eleven days. On July 9, prosecutors dropped all three strangulation charges, eliminating the compromise space between the two remaining verdicts. On July 13, the judge blocked women who survived postpartum psychosis from telling the jury what command hallucinations feel like from the inside. On July 20, before the first juror entered the room, the prosecution moved to exclude defense experts entirely.

Tony walks through what each of those moves does individually and what the three of them do together. In Massachusetts, once evidence of insanity is introduced, the burden flips — the prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Clancy was criminally responsible. That is why controlling what the jury hears is everything. Every witness who gets blocked is one fewer voice complicating the Commonwealth's proof.

Also covered: Reddington's denied request to tell jurors about the reversed burden before opening statements, the eighteen-juror panel Sullivan is seating, and what the defense still has left after the bench was stripped. Patrick Clancy on both witness lists. The civil complaint. Thirteen medications. And seventeen-minute psychiatric appointments right up to the day before.

Two jurors by lunch. Four to eight weeks. And the first fight was about who gets to talk.
