Van Morrison's Astral Weeks (1968) stands as one of the most distinctive and influential albums in popular music. Although the album sold poorly upon release and produced no hit singles, its reputation steadily grew through critical reappraisal. Today it is widely regarded as Morrison's masterpiece and one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
