Y Ahora Qué? | Unpacking the Latino Vote

Katharine Pichardo-Erskine is a trailblazer who has melded political organizing expertise and executive leadership to become a widely recognized change-maker in the governmental, political, and civic arena. She took charge as Executive Director at Latino Victory with a mission perfectly suited to her 25 years of experience as a successful leader and passionate advocate: building political power within the Latino community and ensuring that Latino voices are included in the nation’s policy and fiscal agenda. Most recently, Katharine served as Senior Vice President at the MirRam Group, a top-tier New York-based strategic consulting firm where she has managed some of the firm’s most prominent portfolios. Between 2018 and 2022, Katharine also led the firm’s political arm, as President of the Hamilton Campaign Network (HCN). Melissa Mark-Viverito is an equity-centered activist and social justice champion with over 20 years of experience advocating at the local and national levels. She is based in New York and was is the first Puerto Rican woman to serve as a speaker for the New York City Council. In this week’s episode, we’re discussing the results of the election, how it will affect our communities, and what we can do differently in the next election cycle. Most of us stayed in bed for a few extra hours the morning we got the news. But then we got up. It's ok to feel our feelings, but it’s important that we don’t give in to despair. We can have faith in our local elections, our community, our work ethic. It is important, now more than ever, to do the work in whatever capacity that looks like. Keep up with Melissa Mark-Viverito on her Instagram and her LinkedIn. Keep up with Katherine on her LinkedIn and the Latino Victory website.
