Who Called Lindsay Clancy's Injuries Minor?!

Lindsay Clancy comes to court in a wheelchair, accompanied by nurses from Tewksbury State Hospital. She has a burst fracture of her C1 vertebra, a shattered thoracic and cervical spine, and every rib broken. The word the prosecution’s opening statement used for part of her injuries was superficial.

The state’s case needs her to be a liar three times. She faked being sick. She staged the attempt. She invented the hallucinations after her lawyer coached her. Kevin Reddington’s defense opening at Plymouth Superior Court went after all three, and this session wraps four clips from it.

On the withholding charge: Reddington said she disclosed, and the prosecution’s own first witness confirmed it under oath. Patrick Clancy testified she told him about intrusive thoughts and suicidal ideation months before the children died. On the staging charge: Reddington put photographs and a fracture list in front of the jury. A Jefferson fracture takes headfirst impact. On the coaching charge: a hospital staffer heard the voices before any defense lawyer was in the room.
