I Read James Renner's Amy Bradley Book. Here's What He Got Wrong. | MMA Special

James Renner's Amy Bradley book is out. Kevin has read it. And there are things that need to be addressed.

Kevin spent months on the Amy Bradley series — working directly with her family, friends, eyewitnesses, and the former U.S. assistant attorney who convened a grand jury and got eyewitness statements under oath. He approached this book with that context in hand.

This special episode isn't about Renner personally. It's about the evidence. Kevin walks through the book's key claims — the 4:30 AM timeline, the wind tunnel theory, the overemphasis on Kat and Molly, Yellow's credibility despite keycard data contradicting his stated timeline, and the suicide angle — and addresses each one against what the known, documented record actually shows.

Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable. Kevin doesn't dispute that. But David Carmichael, Judy Maurer, Crystal, Lori, Elizabeth Lewis, and the other witnesses in this case have maintained consistent accounts across nearly 30 years. Former U.S. Assistant Attorney Greg Nivela called each of them credible when he convened the grand jury. That distinction matters.

Kevin also gives Renner credit where it's due: he's a good writer, and he was genuinely respectful toward the Bradley family through much of the book. But good writing in service of a predetermined narrative is not the same as good investigation.
