Lift Each Other Up: Appreciating Jennifer Lopez

It took one documentary to re-frame an awkward interview into a life-changing experience for Nikki & Brie.

This week The Bellas Open Up after a busy week that took them across the country and included The Bella Army, stomach bugs, missing diamonds, a LOT of slime, and celebrating the summer solstice in a very Bellas way.

Then Nikki & Brie dive into their viewing experience of “Halftime,” the Jennifer Lopez documentary on Netflix. The Bellas and Jenny from the Block go way back. From blonde hair to outfit choices and work ethic, Jennifer was a huge inspiration for young Nikki growing up in Arizona. So it was a tremendous honor for Nikki & Brie when they had the chance to interview Jennifer for one of her movies. The experience didn’t live up to Nikki’s expectations and it stuck with her for a long time.

So we fast-forward a few years, and after watching the documentary, Brie urged Nikki to do the same. After streaming “Halftime,” Nikki has a new appreciation for JLo and what she was going through professionally and personally during that infamous interview.

The Bellas really connected with Jennifer’s energy, the need to build other women up, and how it reflected their work as producers, personalities, and mothers. The Bellas have accomplished a lot in life already, but now they’re motivated to connect with other women more and continue to chase their dreams in all aspects of life.

Nikki & Brie close out this episode with a quote from Jennifer Lopez for Inspiration & Affirmation.
